Shenzhen Grand Technology Co. Ltd was established in 2000 in Shenzhen, China. It has been producing a diverse range of high quality musical instruments and amplifiers for 20 years now.
It supplies products and components for worldwide brands such as Peavey, Blackstar and Vox. And of course they supply their own range of equipment under the Grand brand name.
This is a 000-45 style acoustic guitar with lots of attention to detail, and lots of bling.

This guitar is representative of many “tributes” or replicas of classic American acoustics from decades gone by. The phenomenon is reminiscent of the Lawsuit Era guitars that came out of Japan in the 70s & 80s. Except the quality of components and level of craftsmanship are somewhat improved from 30+ years ago.
Time and effort has been expended to ensure that these guitars are not just “cheap copies”, and they are selling in the millions.
This particular guitar is based on a Martin 000, and it performs well. Beside their delicious sound, 000-45s are renowned for their high level of ornamentation. But it seems that the folks at Shenzhen Grand have taken that to another level and added a boatload or more of abalone to the mix. It’s well done, and clearly required some dedicated effort to get all those pretty, shiny pieces aligned …. and obviously this has its appeal, because Grand has sold a lot of these.
Sonically, this guitar clearly will never sound anything like a Martin 000-45, but it does sound good. It has a clear top end with good midrange articulation, and reasonable bass response. It is a medium size guitar so it lacks that big bottom end that a dreadnought may produce, but it is easy to handle, comfortable to play, beautiful to look at, and won’t cost the price of a good car.
There’s barely a mark on it and no sign of player wear. It has been well looked after by a meticulous owner and deserves to be appreciated in a new home.
Comes in a quality hard shell case in new condition.
