Now nearing its eightieth year of continuous production, the Gibson ES (or Electric Spanish series) carries a staying power rarely seen in the guitar market. Its wide array of classic models delivers a coveted warm, full-bodied tone that’s become the signature sound of countless jazz, blues and rock musicians. The ES series has continued to evolve over the decades with new models entering the lineup and older ones reaching the end of their run.
Though radical in its design compared to its fully-hollow ES series cousins, the thin, double-cutaway ES-335 has enjoyed the longest continuous production run of any ES model. With two humbucker pickups and a solid maple centre block, the semi-hollow ES-335 and its siblings have delivered some of the most famous blues and rock riffs in guitar history, from “Johnny B. Goode” by Chuck Berry to “The Thrill is Gone” by B.B. King and “Room 335” by Larry Carlton.

The Gibson Custom ES-335 is one of the most versatile guitars ever created. It is a truly classic design which is suitable for literally all style. The semi-hollowbody and dual ’57 Gibson humbucker pickups combine to produce everything from stinging blues to thick rock growls and sweet singing sustain.
This superb ES 335 was built in Gibson’s facility on Beale Street, Memphis USA. The result is quality craftsmanship that can be counted on, from craftsmen in a city that knows how blues should sound. Carefully selected maple top & back gives the Gibson Memphis 335 its signature bark, and a carefully designed body cavity with the solid centre block delivers the woody howl and unique tones.
This one is in pristine condition with no dings, marks or scuffs apart from a little swirling on the pickguard. The frets show no signs of wear and everything works as it should.
Some 335’s suffer from neck problems, but this one is straight up – no breaks, fractures, splits, repairs or issues of any kind. It plays sweetly and sounds like a good 335 should – lots of woody goodness from the neck pickup, tons of bity growl in the bridge position, and sweet twangy funkiness in between.
Comes in its original Gibson Custom hard shell case in good condition.
