The Gallien-Krueger 800RB is the legendary solid-state bass amp used onstage and on countless hit records by artists like Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Radiohead, No Doubt, Guns n’ Roses, and more. When it was released in 1982, the 800RB dazzled with its bi-amplified operation and DI output, quickly becoming the industry standard for countless bassists, touring bands, and backline companies.
Bought new in 1984 and used professionally by a high profile Sydney band, this is a power-house amp that has delivered the goods for its one owner for over 30 years. If you are familiar with this amp, then read no further. Getting a great bass sound couldn’t be easier.
This excellent amp will give your instrument the full range of tone and powerful punch it deserves. A variable crossover lets you set up the Gallien-Krueger 800RB bass amp head’s dual amplifiers to bring out the perfect mix of boom and snap. A dedicated 300-watt amp power amp circuit drives the lows, while a 100-watt amp takes care of the highs, so the frequencies that need to most power don’t stave the rest of your sound.
On the way in, the GK 800RB lets you completely shape the sound of your bass. A 4-band EQ gives you conventional control of frequencies, and a switchable contour adjustment allows you to add character and grit to your tone.
300 watts (4 ohms) low-frequency amp, 100-watt high amp

Selectable able contour, low cut, and high boost

This one powers up and plays perfectly. It’s been the go-to workdog amp in a pro setting for many years, and everything works as it should – cleanly, quietly, powerfully.
It does have a few expected light scratches, scuffs & wear after 35 years. But overall this 800RB is in very good condition, having spent most of its life in its carpeted road case, which is included in the sale, along with some high quality speaker cabling.
