Here’s another tasty Tele Custom from the same builder as the previously listed Surf Green and Shell Pink guitars here at PREMIER GUITARS.
Again, this one is mostly Fender USA parts sourced from US guitar parts reseller The Stratosphere in Brentwood New Hampshire - https://stratosphereparts.com/
Here's the rundown –
Fender American Performer Telecaster Neck – one piece maple with rosewood fingerboard, modern C profile, satin lacquer, medium jumbo frets. Staggered Fender closed back tuners. Laminated parchment pickguard. Serial # US20025658
Italian made Clandestine brand Toploader solid body – ash. The Toploader design first appeared in Fender’s 1958 Telecasters. Instead of the strings being routed through the body from the back of the guitar, the strings on a Toploader are secured at the base of the bridge. The theory is that this provides slightly less string tension and a subtle variation of tone.
The custom finish on this one is quite unique. It is 14-0010 matt red Selemix 7320 cellulose - this was applied by hand at PRS’ paint shop in the UK by one of their luthiers who specialises in custom finishes.
Fender USA Custom Shop ’51 Nocaster pickups.
Fender Toploader Tele bridge with 3 x steel saddles
Emerson USA pots, caps & wiring with treble bleed – super high quality, hand wired in USA – see https://emersoncustom.com/products/3-way-telecaster-prewired-kit?variant=42583858314
Weight is 8.4 lbs
It is put together very nicely, and the guitar has been tweaked and set up in a most professional manner. The result is a fabulous Tele Toploader that plays beautifully and sounds great.
Besides the beautiful custom red Selemix finish, what sets this Tele apart from the pack is the top of the line USA Custom Shop ’51 Nocaster pickups. These pickups are regularly singled out by those who know to be the best choice of all Custom Shop Tele pickups. They shimmer, burn and bite in all the right ways. And they certainly do all that on this guitar.
This guitar is brand new – it has not been played live, in a studio, at a rehearsal … not anywhere. It was built for the enjoyment of the challenge, and then brought direct to PREMIER GUITARS to find a new home.
Comes as is – ie, it does not include a case.
