This is a particularly nice 1976 Fender Stratocaster in good condition. Complete with its original bright 3 colour sunburst gloss finish, this guitar has a chiming, airy quality and a percussive cut. Twangy and snappy when it's required or bell-like and warm at your discretion, all of the traditional Strat bases are covered with this one.
The finish looks near new and the red of the typical ‘70s sunburst colour scheme hasn’t faded much. The black pickguard with white knobs and pickup covers are stock and typical for 1975-1977 Strats. The neck has a somewhat U-shaped profile and an Indian rosewood fretboard.
This one has had its original 3 bolt neck setting changed to a 4 bolt system for greater stability, better tone and definition. It’s a good job too – the neck joint is rock solid. But you can see the original lower bolt hole under the neck plate – see pics.
The guitar was at some point professionally refretted with medium jumbo frets and plays great. The ash body shows a nice grain under the sunburst finish and resonates nicely when played unplugged.
The pickguard appears to be original, but the pickup covers are vintage reissues.
The kicker with this 77 Strat are the great pickups. They are super punchy and have a nice clear and percussive sound to them, giving this guitar a bold sonic presence. The tuners appear original along with all other hardware.

A classic Strat from the late '70s that plays like a dream. It features all the standard Stratocaster features from the era and is one of the smoothest playing Strats we have encountered. It is also a really nice weight compared to some other Strats of the period, so it's super comfortable guitar to play. And did we mention the pickups ???
Comes in a 70s Fender black tolex case with Fender tail logo, but two latches not functioning.
