SOLD - Fender MIJ Pink Paisley Stratocaster – Japan 1995
by Fender
$1,995.00 20303SOLD
In the late 1960s the hippie movement in USA influenced CBS owned Fender to produce several Flower Power guitars. These include Paisley Pink and Blue Floral Stratocasters, Telecasters and Telecaster basses. The original made in USA versions of these guitars are very collectable and command high prices.
The most famous is the Pink Paisley Tele owned by James Burton and played extensively throughout his tenure with Elvis and beyond.
The later Paisley Stratocasters were made in Japan only and featured an interesting hybrid of a '72 Strat body with a '68 Tele Pink Paisley finish. What certainly makes them special is the pink floral paisley finish, which was printed on foil backed paper and glued to the body and pickguard before being sprayed with clear polyester. This is the 2nd reissue, the first having a ’72 style large headstock. This issue has a ‘50s style maple neck and headstock.

This guitar is in excellent condition showing very little player wear. Cosmetically this one is in great shape - here are three tiny marks and one laquer chip but apart from that it’s hard to fault. We think this guitar has had limited playing time, but it has been looked after extremely well. Overall the lacquer is in superb shape, the metal shows very little tarnishing, all plastics are in fine original condition --- this is one fine pretty lady.
The original frets are in good condition, the neck is strong and straight, and comfortable to play in all positions. Truss rod works fine and the vintage style tuners are accurate and true. Pickups are typically Strat – spanky and clear but capable of searing shred when dialled up some.
This is a beautifully presented instrument which we think has had no changes or modifications since new. These are now quite hard to find, especially in this condition.
Comes in its black tolex hard shell case in good condition.
