Fender did release a Made In Japan Hank Marvin Stratocaster in 1996. They were made in the legendary Fuji-Gen factory and are great guitars. Following ongoing demand, Fender commissioned a very limited run of the Hank Marvin Signature Stratocaster from its Mexico plant in 2000. Only 350 were shipped to the UK, and 60 to Australia – and that was it.
This is one of only 60 made for Australia. And it is a fine guitar in every way, crafted by the best Mexican builders using the highest quality materials and serious quality control. Certainly the equal of the Japanese Hank Marvin guitars we have seen.
This one is in excellent condition with only a few light marks from use but no major dings or damage. There is a little fret wear around the lower area, but still plenty of life left. There are some marks on the fingerboard, but they are cosmetic only – not scratches or depressions – just some dark striations in the fingerboard wood.
Apart from that this guitar presents in great shape for a 20 year old instrument.
The bridge saddles are high quality Gotoh units, and the original pickups have been upgraded to a set of Kinman Vintage Strat pickups which sound excellent.
An excellent option for those who want to play it like Hank …. without breaking the bank.
Comes in a brand new tweed hard shell case.
