From Fender –
“The Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster solid body electric guitar brings you an instrument fit for a guitar tone master! Eric Johnson is known for his perfectionism and dedicated search for an ultimate guitar. The brainchild of Johnson himself, the Eric Johnson Stratocaster is designed with Eric's own personal features and preferences, and it is made possible because of his expressed desire to give something back to the collectors, players, and especially the fans who have supported him throughout his career.
The Eric Johnson Stratocaster guitar is built from some of the finest materials available. The light 2-piece alder body is dressed in a very thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, the quartersawn maple neck is paired with a rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius, and 21 highly polished frets.
Additional features on the Eric Johnson Strat include staggered vintage-style machine heads (thus eliminating the need for a string tree), custom pickups with countersink screws and wound to Eric's specifications, and a highly contoured body and neck.
The Eric Johnson Stratocaster comes with a parchment '57-style pickguard, a 5-way pickup switch, master volume, neck tone and bridge tone controls, a vintage tremolo with a silver painted block, and a '57-style string recess with no paint between base plate and the block.”
This particular EJ Strat has had its body upgraded with a premium MJT alder body made in USA by Mark Jenny. It is finished with a thin layer nitrocellulose lacquer in alluring turquoise, and has been given a subtle light relic treatment by MJT.
MJT is a highly regarded American custom parts manufacturer specialising in aged 100% thin nitro lacquer finishes. MJT link – http://mjtagedfinishes.com.

We at PREMIER GUITARS believe that Fender’s EJ signature Strat is simply one of the best all-round modern Strats you can buy. In fact back in 2005 when John from PG was searching for a workdog guitar to replace his kinda valuable 69 Strat at gigs etc, a mate from Fender invited him over to their Sydney warehouse to check out a new shipment just in from USA.
Having waded through a bunch of Custom Shop and Artist models, John finally settled on a new Eric Johnson Strat – 57 sunburst style, great neck, medium jumbo frets, 12” radius, light weight, nitro finish, vintage trem bridge, and a great set of pickups. This guitar is John’s backup Strat to this day – and it’s not leaving the line-up any time soon.
This guitar is a nice one from 2008 with all those excellent features, and in great condition. As mentioned, Mr Jenny has given it his hand crafted light relic treatment to provide that vintage feel. So this guitar has settled happily and been played in over more than a decade, and it has a great setup resulting in a super comfortable playing experience.
The EJ Strat has proven to be one of Fender’s most popular models since its inception, and for good reason. It has all the right components, vintage specifications, outstanding attention to detail in the build and did we mention the pickups ???
Comes in a non original tweed hard case in good condition.
