From Fender –

“In the formative years following the Stratocaster's groundbreaking debut in 1954, it saw slight tweaks and modifications that helped firmly establish its legacy as the finest electric guitar ever made. The Vintage Custom 1955 Stratocaster has some cool, rare features that we feel represent the best of the origins of the Strat® and gives you a glimpse into the innovations that were crucial in its development. The NOS flash-coat lacquer finish lets the guitar breathe and shows some of the natural grain through its wide-fade 2-Colour Sunburst finish. The neck features a vintage 7.25"-9.5" compound radius, which we found on some rare examples, giving it a unique feel even among vintage-inspired models. It also features medium vintage frets, which are slightly larger than standard vintage size and very comfortable to play.

Other features found on this guitar include Closet Classic hardware, a 2-piece ash body, tinted maple rift-sawn neck with a '54 "U"-shaped neck profile, 21 medium vintage frets, hand-wound '55 Strat pickups with transitional ’54 covers, 5-way switch, vintage wiring, American Vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, bone nut, round string tree and vintage-style tuning machines.

The Vintage Custom 1955 Stratocaster is the legendary guitar you know and love with some rare "what could have been" flair.”

This guitar was purchased from a well known Sydney retailer back in 2010. It has been used primarily at home since then, and well looked after.

It features Fender’s Closet Classic treatment, which means this guitar has not been given the relic treatment, but made to look and feel like a guitar that has been kept in a closet for years and finally released into the modern day world.

It is in excellent overall condition, with no modifications & everything works as it should. Some very minor fret wear to the B & G string areas, but plenty of fret life left, tuners are solid, trem bridge intonates well.

One-piece maple neck and board with a rear walnut skunk stripe, centre dot inlays, truss adjustment at the heel. The neck features some stripey maple which is quite spectacular.

Weight is 8.2 lbs

A true Fender classic with the right vintage feel, without the vintage price tag. This one does not have its Certificate of Authenticity, but does include its trem arm, tags and unused Fender leather strap.

Comes with its original Fender Tweed hard shell case in good condition.
