The American Vintage Reissue Series (AVRI) originally debuted during the twilight of the CBS era in 1982, when the '57 and '62 Reissue Stratocaster models were still built at the Fullerton, CA plant. In 1985, production of the series moved to the Corona, California where it remained until Fender ceased production of this AVRI model some years ago.
While we have had a few very nice 62 AVRI Strats listed here at PREMIER GUITARS in Sydney, this is the first 62 Jazzmaster AVRI we have seen. And a real beauty it is too. All '62 Vintage Reissue models featured specifications matching their 1962 counterparts, including body contours, neck shape, vintage style tremolo and bridge.

This particular Jazzer has some nice upgrades too. Primary being a pair of sweet sounding Lollar vintage Jazzmaster pickups, and a fabulous Mastery bridge.
The Lollars are possibly the best sounding after market pickups you could put on a Jazzmaster. They sound a little thicker and more complex to us, but still retain all the chiming clarity you want from a Jazzmaster.
The Mastery bridge is indeed a masterful piece of engineering. It is well known that the original design of the Jazzmaster bridge left some elements to be desired. But the Mastery addresses every shortfall of the original and provides a more solid foundation, better sustain and more reliable tuning. The original bridge and bridge cover is in the case.
This one also includes two pickguards – a classic white 3 ply and a most alluring tortoise shell version which we like a lot – see extra pic.
Also in the case are 2 x 1965 style knobs, the original switch tip & trem arm, original pickup covers plus owner’s manual & warranty.
This guitar is in good condition. It has been played and shows some wear including some scuffs & scratches, and a few chips in the lacquer. There is some light scuffing on the back, a couple of chips on the sides. Apart from some light wear on the back, the neck is 95% as new, with a rich rosewood fingerboard and original frets with almost no wear.
It is set up to play with a nice low action, good intonation and a neck that feels super comfortable in all playing areas.
If you’ve ever doubted the tonal effects that a quality nitro finish can have on a guitar then prepare to be informed. There’s a singing richness to the sound of the ’62 reissue that simply can’t be replicated by a poly-coated guitar.
For budgets that don't include big bucks to spend on an original 62, this AVRI '62 Reissue Jazzer in the vary rare custom colour of Inca Silver is just about as good as you can get.
Comes with its original Fender tweed hard shell case in excellent condition.
