In 1992, Qian Ni, who had come to the United States from China to study music, founded Eastman Strings. In the beginning, he and his two musician colleagues bought instruments from Western-trained violin makers from their home town in China, but before long, they saw that a new approach was needed.
Mr. Ni hired a group of established master violinmakers, and with their help, he established a large master violin workshop devoted to the handcrafting of instruments—one of the first the world had known since the first half of the 20th century.
In the short time since this workshop was founded, the reputation of Eastman Strings’ instruments for tonal quality and craftsmanship excellence has become a worldwide standard.
Mr. Ni soon identified the need for hand crafted archtop guitars at an affordable price.
Following the same good practices established by the violin shop, a studied approach was applied to the archtop guitar. Numerous vintage models were studied and the guitars were hand built by the most gifted craftsmen in the shop.
The results exceeded expectations and the instruments became an immediate hit among players of all levels. Eastman was established as an extremely high quality, high value and affordable arch top guitar manufacturer. Eastman products have been highly regarded by players and used everywhere from homes to major concert stages internationally.

This beautiful jumbo was bought new by its one owner from a major Sydney guitar store in 2020. It has been played sporadically at home and looked after perfectly. It presents in absolutely new condition, with a not a mark anywhere. It would definitely suit a new buyer.
Most on these Eastman jumbos come standard without a pickup, but a big advantage with this one is the superb sounding LR Baggss pickup system.
If you've ever wanted a guitar that puts out a wall of sound while strumming but is also a punchy fingerstyle guitar then this jumbo will fit the bill. Built with a tonewood combination of AAA grade Engelmann Spruce and (sugar) Flamed Maple, this jumbo is just as pleasing to look at as it is to play.
This Eastman delivers the perfect amount of thump with a pleasingly powerful low mid drive and a sparkly rich high end. The neck profile "Even C" shape is comfortable and not as thin as some standard jumbo builds, and it feels just right whether you're playing fingerstyle or strumming.
This AC630BD from Eastman is an outstanding instrument. It would be hard to find a more harmonically rich, big sounding jumbo with the sonic versatility to play just about any genre of music, especially at this price point.
Comes in its original hard shell case in new condition.
