The REVSTAR Series from Yamaha has been designed in homage to the stylish lines and honed performance of the café racer bikes seen in London in the 1960s.
This uniquely “new classic” looking guitar is outfitted with newly designed P90 pickups sunk into a solid mahogany body. The set neck and jumbo frets go together to create a super comfortable feeling instrument that not only plays and sounds great but due to a lighter than usual finish, it will age nicely and be a visual pleasure for many years to come.

Designed especially for Revstar, Yamaha’s Dry Switch gives you the versatility of a coil split, but with bigger tone. Using a passive filter circuit designed to give the perfect frequency response, the Dry Switch filters out low frequencies to give the punch and clarity of a single coil pickup minus the inevitable hum and hollow tone often associated with split humbucking pickups. It’s explained well in this video demo –-
This Revstar is in the very alluring colour of Bowden Green. And on this particular one it is a very deep green indeed – certainly seems a deeper, dark green than the one of the video demo. Maybe it’s their video lighting ? Who knows. The back, neck & sides are stained a rich deep mahogany.
This guitar has been professionally set up by respected Sydney guitar tech Gary Corcoran, who also installed a lovely bone nut. It presents as new – not a mark anywhere, no fret wear, no buckle rash, no issues.
It is essentially a new guitar with a genuine, well cut bone nut and an excellent pro setup. Plays great and sounds big & toneful. These pickups are rich and complex, even when turned down low. But they certainly whallop when cranked up a little.
Weighs in a comfortable 7.6 lbs.
Comes with its quality Yamaha gig bag.
