This is a great L Series Strat from 1963 in classic three colour sunburst. It shapes up in every way – absolutely gorgeous to behold, and beautiful to play. This is not a trophy piece to admire from a distance. This one has certainly been played, and played for decades by a famous figure in in the history of Aussie pop rock. It was owned by a founding member of one of Australia’s most successful and high profile bands of the swinging 70s. It was used on countless recordings, tours and TV appearances over many years.
If you were a watcher of the ubiquitous ABC music show Countdown, particularly in the early years, you would have seen this guitar. It was the go-to Fender instrument for one of the most respected & well-loved guitarists in Australia before he sadly left us a few years ago.

This one is way up there with some truly great vintage Strats we have listed. Super comfortable to play, it is a beautiful sounding instrument – clear, bell-like tones, with that wonderful woody sound from the neck pickup, plenty of snarl from the bridge p/u, and lots of pop & cluck from the in-between p/u settings. A spacious, almost 3 dimensional sound.
This is an exceptionally clean original L Series Strat – one of the best examples we’ve ever seen.
Comes in its original brown tolex Fender hard case.
