From Rickenbacker – The 340 is basically the same as Model 330 but with an extra hi-gain pickup. Careful acoustic research has resulted in the full, rich and warm sound of this popular model. Three single coil pickups on a full size body are accented by a traditionally shaped sound hole. The 24 fret rosewood fingerboard is punctuated by dot inlay fret markers, with full double cutaways permitting access to all the frets. Standard output is monaural through a single jack plate. This is a discontinued model.

According to its original receipt, this 340 was bought new from Berrigan’s Music in Coffs Harbour in 1985. It has been played but well looked after. It is in original condition with no changed parts or modifications. The colour is a unique and quite beautiful deep Burgundy – could even be a custom colour, but certainly looks original.
The neck is straight with a very comfortable low action. Original frets are in great shape. The finish has some signs of wear as expected, but there are no structural issues or major blemishes. The only mark of note is on the back near the neck joint, but it’s a small dent in the finish only – see pics.
This is the sound of the 60s, and maybe a little 70s, but it’s that unique Ricky noise – jangly and clear, with added dirt if you turn it up.
Comes in original black tolex Rickenbacker case, and includes the original bridge cover, Rickenbacker paperwork, owner’s manual, cleaning cloth & adjustment tools in unopened plastic bag.
