The Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 is one of the company’s first production models, and it remains one of the favourites in the PRS line to this day.
The CU22 is a classic PRS guitar. And this particular CU22 model is the PRS 20th Anniversary Model, which makes a great guitar even more distinct. Special appointments include 20th Anniversary “Birds in Flight” inlays and an anodised “20th” truss rod cover which are exclusive to these models.
Played by internationally touring artists and pro musicians worldwide, the Custom 22 features PRS’s patented tremolo system and PRS Dragon II pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-way rotary selector switch.

In 1997 John from PREMIER GUITARS was given a factory tour of the current PRS facility in Maryland USA by the then marketing manager (whose name I have forgotten …) The experience was notable in the attention to detail given to every phase of assembly, from the super high tech machinery to the hand finishing of every component, fit and finish. The whole tour was so impressive I had to have one of these great guitars, so the purchase of a PRS CU22 took place that day. I still have that 1997 guitar & and I still love it.
PRS guitars are super versatile, with a wide variety of great sounds, and a build quality second to none. They are rock solid, stay in tune, travel well and cover every style of music.
This one is in excellent, all original condition. Apart from some light tarnishing of the metal, it has virtually no player wear evident, and is in amazing condition for a 20+ year old instrument. It has no fret wear and everything works as it should. It features great sounding Dragon II pickups, with the fab 5 way tone selector. It has a super fast wide thin neck with lovely birds in flight inlays, presented in magnificent Piano Black finish.
Comes in its original PRS hard shell case in excellent condition.
