Even though this is one of Maton’s most reasonably priced guitars, there’s nothing cheap about the quality of this guitar. It is very much suited for professional recording and stage performance.
One of its strengths is that it has a bright tone that is not overpowered by the boomy bass tone that you sometimes get with more expensive Matons like the Messiah, or big bodied Martins. This makes it ideally suited for fingerpicking. The trebles and mids are sweet and responsive, and the overall sound is bright and balanced.
The laminated back & sides of QLD maple work very well with the solid spruce top to produce an extremely smooth tone with just the right amount of decay and volume.
This M225 is very light and the resulting tone is perceptibly more responsive. Ornamentation is kept to the bare minimum, which allows Maton to produce a quality instrument at an affordable price.
It is in overall good condition, but it HAS been played. It has some marks on the top, a bit of buckle wear on the back, and some scratches on the pickguard and beyond. So yes, you can see some evidence of player wear, but nothing too offensive. Certainly no structural problems.
This is a good guitar that works well. It has some obviously evident player wear, but it is light, responsive, bright, and feels great to play, and at a good price.
Comes in quality gig bag in good condition.
