From Kelton Swade –
“I craft authentic vintage replica guitars in Nashville, Tennessee that inspire legends and legends in the making. You are serious about your tone and about your music – so am I. That is why I make these all by hand, right here in the U.S.A – where the Blues and Country music were born and gave birth to Rock and Roll!
No heartless corporations and their assembly lines here – just a set of hands, driven by a heart, for you and your music. You have your own soul and pair of hands that are unique and special, don’t you think you should have a unique and special guitar for them? I do, and that is why I create these functional pieces of art, with you in mind.
Your search for that “one” guitar that you have always wanted, but could never find, is over! The attention to detail and craftsmanship in each guitar are world-renowned and leave even the big corporations in awe – so much so, one famous, major guitar company even bought several of my guitars! These are not relic guitars but authentic vintage replicas. They are my interpretation of how Uncle Leo used to make them when quality mattered. It is like having a vintage guitar without the vintage price tag!”
Kelton Swade hand-makes every instrument himself, and he has been doing so for over 25 years. He regards his creations as vintage replicas and he focuses mainly on classic bolt-on designs form the 50s and 60s.
Kelton Swade guitars are used by some of the biggest artists in the business including Keith Urban, Vince Gill, Robben Ford and a growing list of high profile players. The guitars are highly regarded for their authentically vintage look, feel and sound. Each Kelton Swade guitar is a custom made one-off, so no two are the same.
And that is the case with this particular instrument. This is a Kelton Swade AVRT – an American Vintage Replica Telecaster. It has had its original pickups replaced with a set of very high end, and very well regarded Wizz PAF style humbuckers. Wizz pickups are handmade in Croatia and are being sold to a growing band of sophisticated tone hunters worldwide.

This is a high quality beast. It reeks of vintage feel and gets you mighty close to the luxury of playing a genuine vintage instrument, which would likely cost you five times the price of this one.

It now plays and sounds like a combination of Cadillac & Tesla – the best of both worlds, vintage and modern.
