This is a Godin Acousticaster made in Canada sometime in the 1980s. These are lightweight, shaped like a Telecaster and totally hollow – like an acoustic guitar should be. But add the fab LR Baggs pick up system and you’ve got a very versatile, easy playing accompaniment tool.
The one piece maple neck is capped with a maple fingerboard. It has a two chamber mahogany body with a solid spruce top.
It has a nice slim taper medium profile neck, which lends itself to hours of comfortable playing. In fact the whole package feels more like an electric guitar to play, but with bronze strings it still projects a decent acoustic sound.
This one is definitely a player guitar – ie it’s been played (a lot) by a busy pro who worked primarily in the Aussie country scene. And that explains the interesting list of signatures to be found adorning its top. They include the actual autographs of –
Jim E Christie
Pete Anderson + 2 more unknown
After careful examination, we believe this Acousticaster still has its original natural finish intact, and that its previous owner has actually sprayed over the signatures with a clear coat to “protect” them.
So if a subsequent owner decided to clean this overspray and the signatures off, they would be left with a 30 year old natural finish. The back and sides of the body certainly appear to have the original natural finish intact.

Minor fret wear to the first three only, original Schaller tuners work perfectly, truss rod is fine. A few marks here and there, but no structural issues or repairs. The back is super clean, no buckle rash at all. Action is a comfortable medium low.
All in all, a great hybrid workhorse in good playing condition that covers a lot of ground acoustically & electrically. And lots of fun to play.
Comes as is – no case with this one.
