This is a lovely Gibson Les Paul Standard built in Nashville USA in 1991, finished in alluring Wine Red. This is an easy playing Les Paul with a super comfortable neck, great tone, and a distinctive look.
The cream binding and dark rosewood fingerboard complement the finish and complete its colour palette perfectly. The medium C shape neck is very easy to move around. It is not one of the super slim 1960 style necks from the early 90s LP Classics. This one feels very comfortable – not too thin, and not to fat – just right for most players.

This Les Paul is a one owner instrument, bought new in Adelaide in 1991. It has been played, but well looked after. Before listing it with PREMIER GUITARS, the owner took it to respected Sydney guitar tech Alan Rigg, who gave it a good going over and an excellent pro set up. Al’s comments were that it is “a good straight guitar with no issues and a good strong neck”.
The original bridge pickup is long gone, replaced by a great sounding Seymour Duncan Stag Mag humbucker which can have its coils split if desired. This tone split option is not currently engaged on this guitar, although it could easily be wired via a push/pull tone pot.
From Duncan – “The Stag Mag is a high output bridge pickup designed specifically to give you a true Strat single coil tone when switched into split mode. Its 4-conductor lead wire gives you the ability to use a mini-toggle switch or push-pull to split the coils for access to both humbucker and single coil sounds. We use alnico 2 rod magnets with a traditional Fender pole stagger, and a specially designed high output coil wind so that, when split, the sound is bouncy and bright, just like a Strat. When wired as a full humbucker, the tone is fat and smooth.”
This LP Standard is in very good condition overall. It has some very light buckle wear and a few nicks on the back, but the neck and top are clean. The frets show little sign of wear. The neck is straight and the truss rod is functioning perfectly.
Comes in original Gibson hard case in worn condition, with inner shroud. It has no handle and the hinges need some rivets replaced.
