This LP is super clean, with absolutely no marks on the top. There is a stain on the back, likely from resting on a rubber guitar stand. There is one small dent on the rear of the neck, and some very light buckle rash that can hardly be seen. Apart from that, this guitar presents in fine condition.
No tarnishing of the metal parts, and structurally sound all over. Neck is solid and straight, truss rod works perfectly, tuners exact.
The rosewood fingerboard has no marks, and the frets show virtually no wear. The trapezoidal fingerboard inlays are turning that classic luminous green that comes with a little age.
The neck is a very comfortable and fast playing mid C shape, not crazy thin like some original 1960 Gibsons, and certainly not too beefy like some 50s reissues.
The bridge and tailpiece are most probably after-market parts. But they are both solid, high quality components. The tailpiece appears to be a chrome Gibson TP6 fine tuning unit and is a practical addition which works well. The roller bridge also allows for fine tuning adjustment – could be a Schaller.
The Gibson USA pickups sound great in all three positions and have all the classic humbucker chunk you’d hope for in a Les Paul, plus the traditional bark and bite in the bridge. This guitar has been well set up and plays very clean all the way up the neck.
Comes in original Gibson hard case in good condition.
