Featuring a traditional soft shoulder dreadnought shape, hand-scalloped X bracing, solid Sitka spruce top, and solid mahogany back and sides, the tone is rich and detailed, with the smooth low end push and broad projection. The guitar offers top end bite without being brittle and delivers and a big, open quality with a purposeful strum. This one has good definition and warmth for fingerpicking too.
Apart from some pick marks on the guard and around the sound hole, there is little to show for this guitar being six years old. Everything else is super clean.
The one-piece mahogany neck has a medium C shape with good shoulder and limited taper with a comfortable and fast feel. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features perfect vintage gauge fretwire which is free of wear.
It has a great sounding LR Baggs pickup onboard, and the whole package has been set up nicely by respected Sydney guitar tech Alan Rigg, so it‘s definitely ready to roll in every way.
This J-45 has a wonderfully balanced, even and very focused acoustic tone that could only be Gibson. It is a lovely instrument to play, and that neck is comfortable in all positions. No dead spots, and a vibe that says “play me !”
Comes in its original Gibson hard case in excellent condition.
