Gibson Custom ES-335 Iced Tea - USA 2012
Pickup currently unavailable
Now nearing its ninetieth year of continuous production, the Gibson ES (or Electric Spanish series) carries a staying power rarely seen in the guitar market. Its wide array of classic models deliver a coveted warm, full-bodied tone that's become the signature sound of countless jazz, blues and rock musicians. The ES series has continued to evolve over the decades with new models entering the lineup and older ones reaching the end of their run.
Though radical in its design compared to its fully-hollow ES series cousins, the thin, double-cutaway ES-335 has enjoyed the longest continuous production run of any ES model. With two humbucker pickups and a solid maple centre block, the semi-hollow ES-335 and its siblings have delivered some of the most famous blues and rock riffs in guitar history, from "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry to "The Thrill is Gone" by B.B. King and “Room 335” by Larry Carlton.
The Gibson Custom ES-335 is one of the most versatile guitars ever created. It is a truly classic design which is suitable for literally all style. The semi-hollowbody and dual ’57 Gibson humbucker pickups combine to produce everything from stinging blues to thick rock growls and sweet singing sustain.
This superb ES-335 with its stunning Iced Tea finish, was built in Gibson's Memphis Custom Shop on Beale Street in 2012. The result is quality craftsmanship that can be counted on, from craftsmen in a city that knows how blues should sound. Carefully selected maple top & back gives the Gibson Memphis 335 its signature bark, and a carefully designed body cavity with the solid centre block delivers the woody howl and unique tones.
This one is in pristine condition with no dings, marks or scuffs apart from a little swirling on the pickguard. The frets show little sign of wear and everything works as it should. This 335 feels like it’s been played-in just enough, but looked after wonderfully well.
The current owner bought this lovely instrument brand new in 2013, and he had a very nice Resomax graphite bridge installed which which is now in the case. The original Gibson ABR bridge is currently installed.
Comes in its original Gibson Custom hard-shell case in as new condition. Gibson Custom Certificate of Authenticity is included.
