This is a nice Fender Stratocaster made up from choice USA parts of a few select guitars.
The body is a USA MJT alder Strat body created and aged by renowned Stratmeister Mark Jenny, It has been given a nitro Lake Placid Blue finish over a white undercoat, just like way back in the day. Mr Jenny has then given it his hand crafted relic treatment, to provide that vintage feel. MJT is a very well regarded American custom parts manufacturer specialising in aged, thin 100% nitro lacquer finishes. MJT link – http://mjtagedfinishes.com
The neck is a USA built Fender American Standard neck from 2006, with standard Fender Kluson vintage style tuners. The back of the neck has been rubbed back a little to reduce the sheen. It has a great feel. Rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets with no discernible wear.
The bridge is a completely original German made Schaller Floyd Rose unit. Top of the line workmanship on this bridge. Does everything it’s supposed to do, and returns correctly to perfect tuning.
The bridge pickup is a great sounding Seymour Duncan humbucker. The two single coils are Duncan designed Fender pickups.
Controls are all as expected – Fender 5 way switch, CTS pots, cloth wiring, all hand wired by a professional guitar tech. Exceptional job.
Neck has an excellent tight fit, with no gaps or alignment issues.
This one has been played in, set up well and sounds like it should – fat humbucker Strat tone at the bridge & clear & chimy single coils which combine really well.
It’s a case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. It’s ended up a very nice, playable workhorse at a reasonable price.
Comes as is – no case.
